The Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) maintains a list of diseases that barres visitors and immigrants from entering the US, HIV remains on this list. Meaning, if you have HIV that means you can not take refuge, apply for citizenship, visit your family or even vacation. HIV although a very serious disease is communicable by only blood and sexual contact, and is therefore one of the more "preventable" diseases. If you feel as I do that this needs to be taken of HHS's list of diseases visit the Human Rights Campaign and help them out.
